Calling it "quiet quitting" is poor marketing. It tells employers that you've quit mentally... So why would they bother helping you move up the ladder or keep you employed if they don't need to? Plus, going on social media and announcing you're "quiet quitting" isn't a smart move. Anyone in the world can see your posts... Employers notice how you feel about working for them.
This trendy term should be eliminated in favor of what it used to be called "Working to rule." There's nothing wrong with simply doing what's only on your job description. Just don't expect to be rewarded for this. Working to rule also doesn't imply that you hate your job and want to quit...
