Building real connections is crucial to a writer's success. The phrase, "It's not what you know. It's who you know." is true.

When commenting on other writer's stories, I always make sure to provide something to the conversation. I try to add another point. Add another perspective. Make a disagreement (respectfully). Make the writer laugh. And so on.

That strategy alone has helped me grow my following from 0 to where it is now in under 2 months!
