The red flag is more so to readers. To pump out lots of articles, writers often resort to writing tons of short form articles. These articles often feel rushed and lacking depth. I'm not sure how writing more or less articles affect Medium's algorithm.

I think writers should generally focus more on quality than quantity. However, some writers are able to make posting more often work. But only if they are treating Medium as a full-time job. If you can maintain the same level of quality while posting more, great!
